Last snow of 2007

December 31st, 2007

Tree covered in snow Late last night the [tag]snow[/tag] started to fall. This is the last snow fall of the year. Tomorrow we will have another snow and ring in the [tag]new year[/tag] with another blanketing. I think it is fitting, covering the world in timelessness as we mark the passing of time. Everything is always happening, now, tomorrow, yesterday, it is all in where our consciousness lies. Today, it is wrapped in the tranquility of beautiful snow.

As I went to bed I looked out the window and the world was bright enough to see without light. Everything was bright gray, except the white snow slowly falling and covering everything. This was wet snow, heavy and sticky. This was snow that is hard to shovel and coats everything. In the morning, power lines were down in some areas. Tree branches had fallen in all areas, not able to stand up to the weight of the heavy we snow. But standing outside, the tree’s were covered with almost three inches of snow, just balancing, precariously, waiting for a wind to knock it loose. The bark of the trees was wet making the bark look nearly black, a beautiful contrast with the bright whiteness of the snow. This morning, I didn’t even mind having to shovel out my car, or even shovel the path to my car. The world was so perfect, so peaceful, all I wanted to do was breath it in as much as I could.
