Happy Ostara!

Today is the vernal equinox; the first day of spring; and to all of us pagans out there Ostara! Today is the day when day and night are in perfect harmony. They are exactly equal in length. Everyday after today will have a little more light than the day before, well up until the Summer Equinox and then the day gets slowly shorter. But this means we are on the upswing. The snow is melting, the helebores are green and the crocuses are peaking their heads out of the dirt! Spring is here, even if the spring weather has not quite landed in Massachusetts. Though just knowing it is here makes a long gloomy winter seem a little bit brighter!
At our house, Harvey the Ostara bunny came and visited and managed to litter our house with eggs.

At work I am giving out little cups with candy in it

and wearing bunny ears.

Yes, I am that festive. Honestly, it has just put me in a good mood. Things here have been gray and rainy and cold and depressing and overwhelming and unending. I don’t mean to make it sound that gloomy, there have been beacons of light in the dismal end of winter. *wink* yeah, you know who you are..he he he. Seriously though, this winter keeps dragging on and bringing in some festivities seemed far over due.

So I hope you all have a Happy Ostara and for those of you non-pagans out there, have a good easter. So here is some good Ostara/Easter humor to lighten your day.
